This message is from Eric Haak:

I captured these photos of a restaurant fire in Gary, Indiana on Saturday afternoon, August 30th. The incident occurred at the intersection of 47th and Broadway. I was lucky to be at 35th and Broadway when the emergency alarms went off. The fire started in the kitchen but was quickly brought under control by the firefighters. Before anyone asks, the man in civilian clothes is the restaurant owner. This photo was taken within the first minute after the fire department arrived. He moved away just seconds later. If you had shown up five minutes later, there wouldn't have been much left to see. The last image shows Engine 5, which is the newest engine in the city's fleet. It's always good to see modern equipment being used in real-life situations.
