Here are some images from the fire at 976 Tara Court in Wheaton today, known as the 3rd Alarm. The fire originated in the rear of the house and spread up the wall and into the attic. The location is on a dead-end street, which made access difficult. The second engine had to travel about 1,000 feet to reach the nearest hydrant. All units had to walk in from Blanchard with their tools and equipment due to the long distance. It was around 98 degrees Fahrenheit when the fire broke out, making the conditions quite challenging for the crews.
