Today’s fire at 976 Tara Court in Wheaton was a challenging incident. The fire originated in the rear of the house and spread up the wall and into the attic. As it was a dead-end street, the second engine had to travel approximately 1,000 feet to reach the nearest hydrant. All responding units had to walk in from Blanchard, carrying their tools and equipment. The temperature was around 98 degrees when the fire broke out, making the conditions particularly tough for the crews.
