This is a report from Code Photography: The Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 block of Herrick Road for a potential house fire. As units were en route, dispatch reported that people might be trapped inside. When Engine 1604 arrived on scene, there was no visible fire coming from a two-and-a-half story wood-frame house. As the crew entered the building, a resident informed them that someone was on the second floor where the fire appeared to be located. The first-arriving units immediately pulled a hose line and conducted a search of the second floor. The fire was confined to the C/D corner of the second floor, allowing crews to quickly contain the blaze. Even though the fire was contained early, the possibility of someone being trapped made it a high-priority incident. The quick actions of the first responders helped prevent the fire from spreading further, and the residents were able to stay safe.
