**Autodesk Makes VR Accessible for Architects and Virtual Design Experts**
When Autodesk launched Autodesk LIVE for Revit back in July, it revolutionized the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries by introducing "on-demand" interactivity. LIVE is a groundbreaking cloud-based tool that turns your Revit models into immersive, interactive experiences with just one click. Instead of merely viewing your designs, LIVE allows you to truly *experience* them.

Now, with the latest update to Autodesk LIVE, which is currently in beta, the possibilities have expanded even further. Two clicks are all it takes to step into virtual reality (VR) directly from Revit. The first click sends your model to the LIVE cloud service, where it’s transformed into an interactive format. The second click activates the VR viewer, allowing you to toggle between regular viewing and VR mode seamlessly.
This means you can go from Revit to VR in just two steps—no coding required, no lengthy waiting periods. This makes VR implementation not only accessible but also cost-effective for architects and virtual design and construction (VDC) professionals working with Revit. If you’ve got a system compatible with HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, you’re all set to give Autodesk LIVE for VR a try.
For anyone familiar with creating VR content, this advancement holds immense significance. It’s another step forward for Autodesk in helping architects and VDC professionals immerse themselves in their designs and communicate their visions more effectively. At the same time, it supports a more inclusive, democratic approach to the design process.
Early feedback from beta testers has been encouraging. Andrew Malanoski from Eppstein Uhen Architects shared how his firm’s workflow might soon shift dramatically. After giving one of the owners a quick tutorial on the VR controller, he was amazed to see the owner navigating through the model effortlessly within seconds. Not long after, the owner was already conducting real-time design critiques. By the end of the session, the owner had decided that the VR experience needed to be shown to the client—and sure enough, the client was thoroughly impressed.
Taylor Cupp, a technologist at Mortenson Construction, noted that VR opened up new avenues for discussion. Clients began focusing on spatial relationships and functionality, while the team identified potential issues they wouldn’t have caught otherwise without LIVE's VR capabilities.
As the beta rolls out to more users, we expect to hear many similar stories. But why the beta phase? Simple—it gives us the chance to gather critical feedback from power users before rolling out VR to everyone.
We’re eager to hear from you and others in the Revit community. Head over [here](#) to learn more about participating in the feedback process.
If you’re already a LIVE subscriber, you’ll now have immediate access to the VR beta. New users can sign up for a monthly subscription, and we’ve extended the free trial period to 30 days. Even if you’ve tried the trial version before, don’t worry—we’ve reset the system so every Revit user can explore the VR features.
It’s an exciting day for those who love instant results.

Let’s take this opportunity to bring your designs to life in ways you never thought possible.
