Chicago Ambulance 23, one of the city's newest Wheeled Coach units, was seriously damaged in an accident this afternoon on the northwest side of Chicago. The incident occurred while the ambulance was en route to a Level 1 EMS call, according to reports from Dan McInerney.
From Dan McInerney:
The unit, which had only recently been deployed as part of the city’s fleet modernization efforts, is now out of service for repairs. While the crash was described as minor, the extent of the damage has raised questions about the safety of emergency vehicle operations in high-traffic areas. Local officials have not yet released details on whether any injuries were reported, but the driver of the ambulance appears to have escaped unharmed. Residents in the area are advised to remain cautious as investigations continue.
