**San Francisco, April 24, 2024** – Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) has announced a significant interoperability agreement with the Nemetschek Group, aiming to enhance collaboration and efficiency in the architecture, engineering, construction, operations (AECO), and media & entertainment (M&E) sectors. This partnership is designed to strengthen the seamless exchange of data between the two companies' cloud-based and desktop solutions, enabling smoother workflows and better project outcomes.
In today’s fast-paced digital environment, cloud-connected tools are essential for automation, real-time insights, and smarter decision-making at every stage of a project. However, many teams still face challenges due to software and file incompatibilities, which lead to fragmented processes and inefficiencies.
“Autodesk is dedicated to delivering open, integrated, and cloud-powered solutions that help our customers unlock data and connect their teams more effectively,†said Amy Bunszel, Executive Vice President of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Solutions at Autodesk. “This new collaboration with Nemetschek represents a major step forward in helping our clients streamline their workflows and achieve better results.â€
The interoperability will allow data to flow more freely between Autodesk and Nemetschek platforms, ensuring that critical information reaches the right people at the right time. This is made possible through Autodesk Platform Services (APS), a set of open APIs and web services that enable Nemetschek's dTwin, Bluebeam Cloud, BIMcloud, and BIMplus to integrate with Autodesk’s industry clouds—such as Forma, Fusion, and Flow—and design tools. As a result, users can leverage automation, AI, and advanced analytics to optimize their projects more efficiently.
This agreement also reinforces both companies’ commitment to open standards like openBIM by buildingSMART, which enhances the accessibility, usability, and sustainability of digital data in the built environment. By creating a unified ecosystem, teams can collaborate on the same digital model across end-to-end workflows, eliminating silos and improving overall productivity.
“OpenBIM, interoperability, and open industry standards are core to the Nemetschek Group’s philosophy,†said Marc Nézet, Chief Strategy Officer at Nemetschek. “Our partnership with Autodesk marks a historic milestone, giving customers the flexibility to work in any project environment and with any software ecosystem—ultimately leading to a more connected and sustainable built world.â€
Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will provide mutual access to their APIs and cloud platforms. This means developers will have access to key Autodesk tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, and Maya, along with Forma and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Similarly, they will gain access to Nemetschek’s platforms like Allplan, Archicad, Bluebeam, Maxon One, Vectorworks, and their respective cloud solutions. This shared access will enable enhanced data exchanges and the development of new, cross-disciplinary workflows.
