The Countryside Fire Department was initially called to investigate smoke inside a townhouse at 15 Timber Lane in Vernon Hills on Friday, September 5th, 2014, around 9:30 PM. Shortly after arriving, the call was upgraded to a working fire response. When I arrived, the fire was mostly extinguished. Two hose lines had been deployed, and the Mundelein Quint 432 aerial ladder was positioned on the roof. There was no visible fire or smoke. Both primary and secondary searches came back clear. It's always sobering to see the aftermath of such an event, even when everything seems under control. The quick response and coordination between the fire department and other emergency services made a big difference. It's reassuring to know that the area was safe and that no one was harmed.
