This is from Steve Redick:

On Sunday, I covered a still and box alarm at Cortland and Kingsbury, an industrial area where a large scrap metal operation was on fire. A massive pile of junk cars was burning, and since the location is right by the river, Engine 2, the large fireboat, was dispatched to the scene. They eventually connected a 4-inch line to Engine 55, which then used a multi-purpose nozzle. There was some discussion about using the big water cannons, and the “crows nest” turret on the fireboat was raised, but there wasn’t a clear shot from the river due to the layout of the fire. Access to the area was very limited, and I was shooting directly into a bright, low sun — not the best conditions. Despite that, I managed to capture some interesting shots of the boat in action, as well as what looked like an air monitoring device deployed by the hazmat team. All the photos and videos from this incident are available on my website.
