Turcite Sheet
Turcite is PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) resins with added fillers such as bronze, that are extruded into solid billets as opposed to compression molding. Billets are then skived to a nominal thickness in 24" wide rolls, with lengths varying depending on thickness. One side or both sides are etched depending on application to accept the adhesive.
Turcite is a thermoplastic resin used in industrial applications that require reduction of friction on bearings and moving parts.Due to the nano ultra-fine formula, the material of the guide rail soft belt is more uniform and denser, eliminating internal stress, cutting without deformation, and has a straighter appearance, no "fluff", and stronger wear resistance. It has been widely used in all kinds of ordinary machine tools. And textile, printing, paper, food, chemical, woodworking machinery and other mechanical sliding guide manufacturing and maintenance, especially suitable for all kinds of precision machine tools, CNC machine tools and processing centers with high precision.

This morning in Chicago, there was a significant fire alarm at 3235 South Kostner Avenue. The fire quickly spread through the roof of a corrugated single-story warehouse located on the premises of a local trucking company. Emergency services were quick to respond, but the intensity of the flames made it a challenging situation.
I’ve gathered some powerful images from Gordon J. Nord, Jr. and Josh Boyajian that capture the scale and impact of the incident. These photos offer a glimpse into the dramatic scenes firefighters faced as they worked tirelessly to control the blaze under harsh winter conditions.
Take a look at these striking visuals:
[First Image Caption] A winter fire scene at night captured by Gordon J. Nord, Jr. shows the intense flames engulfing the warehouse, illuminating the surrounding area.
[Second Image Caption] Another image from Gordon J. Nord, Jr. highlights the dramatic scale of the fire, with firefighters in the foreground preparing their equipment.
[Third Image Caption] This photo taken by Gordon J. Nord, Jr. captures firefighters actively engaged in the firefighting efforts, their hoses spraying water onto the blazing structure.
[Fourth Image Caption] As dawn broke, Josh Boyajian’s photograph reveals the aftermath of the fire, with emergency vehicles and teams still present at the scene.
[Fifth Image Caption] Gordon J. Nord, Jr.’s shot features a Chicago Snorkel vehicle in action, demonstrating the innovative strategies employed to tackle such emergencies.
[Sixth Image Caption] Another Gordon J. Nord, Jr. image showcases a Chicago FD Spartan fire engine, highlighting the modern resources dedicated to protecting the community.
[Seventh Image Caption] Josh Boyajian’s picture from dusk captures the eerie calm after the chaos, with firefighters checking their gear as the last embers smolder.
[Final Image Caption] In another dusk shot by Josh Boyajian, the composition is slightly different, focusing on the towering structure of the fire scene and the firefighters’ vehicles parked strategically around it.
The efforts of the firefighters were commendable, and while the images tell part of the story, they also remind us of the dedication and bravery required in such situations. It’s a stark reminder of the importance of preparedness and vigilance in preventing such disasters.
