This report comes from Eric Haak: The Calumet Park Fire Department was called to a structure on the 12400 block of South Honore around 7:20 PM on Monday, July 21, 2014. The first engine and ladder company arrived within two minutes of the call. Upon arrival, firefighters found the residents outside and heavy smoke coming from the front door. They quickly entered the home and discovered the fire had started in a back bedroom. Within three minutes of their arrival, the fire was under control and contained. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to other rooms or the attic. Additional units from Posen, Midlothian, Merrionette Park, and Riverdale responded automatically for support.
